LEZ Ride: Cycling through Prague for a Low-Emission Zone

Prague is choking on traffic. Noise, polluted air, dangerous intersections—these all have a direct impact on health and quality of life in the city. One effective solution is a Low-Emission Zone (LEZ), which can protect residents from the worst environmental burdens.

That is exactly why the LEZ Ride was created—a cycling route that takes you through nine locations where the reality of today’s Prague meets the vision of a healthier future.

What is the LEZ Ride?

A themed cycling route with nine selected stops in the city center. Each stop highlights a different aspect of urban transport—from extreme pollution and the untapped potential of public space to places where new transport projects are emerging.

The aim of the LEZ Ride is to show why a low-emission zone is necessary for Prague and how it could help transform the city for the better.

Nine Stops

• Legerova Street – the most traffic-burdened street in Czechia, a symbol of transport overload.
• Mezibranská Street – ultrafine particles, an invisible health risk.
• Smetana Embankment – a place waiting to be transformed into a pedestrian promenade.
• Pup – Jan Bouchal – a memorial of courage and civic initiative.
• Prague–Bubny – the future railway heart of the city.

And other locations that hold up a clear mirror to Prague.
